1865 Jaques Staunton set.
Here is a page dedicated to my Staunton Jaques set. It is an 1865 tournament size set (the king is 9 cms high), boxwood and ebony, unweighted. The Knights are the Steinitz ''big mouth'' kind. With original felt and labeled magahony slide box. My pride and joy !
This is a tournament size 1865 Jaques Staunton chess set. Unweighted pieces. Boxwood and ebony. Felted. King size is 10 cm.
This chess set has a very special story. It has been stored in the box from 1960 to 2015 ! For this reason, it only has a very light patina. All pieces are in perfect genuine condition. None have been broken, replaced or repaired. This 150 years old chess set is still in its former glory shape !
