Calvert English chess set.

This chess set is stunning and it is attributed to John Calvert 189 Fleet St London. With 3.5-inch high Kings this size is ideal to play with.

This a truly beautiful example of the top English maker John Calvert who produced fine chess sets from 1791 until his death in 1822. Even if there is not the Calvert stamp under the pieces, these Knights are clearly made by Calvert. They are indeed very typical of this famous ivory turner and carver and they are stunning examples.
