The Lazard brother in 1911

The famous French players Frederic and Gustave Lazard in 1911 used a similar chess set and chessboard. This picture was taken either at the famous Regence Café or at the Cercle Philidor in Paris.

Nice French Regence often called glass ball eye. The King is 9,4 cm. Chessmen are made in Boxwood. Lovely patina of the white pieces. Black are ebonised.
