Emmanuel Chess sets

I only have one of those pieces. He is my garden guardian.

Hand carved in France by a cabinetmaker. Made of ash wood.

All the pieces have been sanded with a volcanic micro sand.

To reinforce the patina effect, some parts are tinted.

After the painting some areas are sanded to obtain a patina.

I made the chessboard from scratch.

It took me hours to make this chessboard!

I painted and applied a clear satin coat varnish on the squares.

Only 1/4 made until now. It will be 2m20 square. Each square is 23.5cms. It will be cut in 4 parts of 1m10 square to make it easier to transport.

I add felt under all the pieces

The borders are in oak, I stuck some felt underneath.

I am careful with the sun. I only take it out on nice days, not too much sun either because there is some wax on the pieces.

It is a big board but I wanted it to have a very nice finish like a smaller one.
